VR Dv16 2019.
If there will be a H0 modell of this engine, pleas include sound system on board as it is LOUD and rattling and shaking and rocking like a hurricane but willing to work. These venerable units hauled even local trains with wooden cars around Turku during the 1960.s and it was very nostalqic to see these engines still at work in the 21 century in Turku. 18th March 2005.

VR Dv16 2030.
The DV16 2030 was busy switching a fast train (=Pikajuna) passanger consist in and out of the service building seen at background. Finns uses still a lot of sound signals during switching with horns. Turku. 18th March 2005.

VR Dv16 2031.
The DV16 2031 was looking a bit abandoned near the backshop of Turku. Note the hood is modernized with a twin headlight treatment. Turku. 18th March 2005.

VR Dv12 2703.
The most versatile of diesels are by far the DV12 class road switchers. In old days they were in charge of anything from heavy switching, trippelheading the heaviest rains and as they are 125 km/h fast even the most prestitous express trains. But when VR start to electrify its mainlines during the 1970.s and ordering Sr1 elecrics they saw more freight duty and switching. Turku 18th March 2005.

VR Dv12 2708.
Another DV12, this time Dv12 2708 shows off its business only but husky looks it kicks an empty 4 axled flat cars to freight tracks of the yard. Turku 18th March 2005.

VR Dv 12 2722.
DV 12 2722 has been a third trailing unit on a heavy freight and snow is uncouled and waiting to roll of to rest with its sisters. The only freight I saw in the yard was a very heavy unit train of oil made of 3 DI12.s and all russian consist of tank cars. When the interchange with former net of CCCP rail system now russian start to flavor the freight operations. VR modified special coupler cars to handle the central couplered only russian cars. Though newer cars had taken over this service all the engines have double couplers to make it easier to haul the both variations of couples on the freight cars. Turku 18th March 2005.

VR Dv 12 2729.
DV 12 2729 has been a lead unit of an very heavy oil train made of russian tank cars. Though there is an pipe line between the countries there is a demand for long unit trains. Turku 18th March 2005.

VR Dv 12 2733.
DV 12 2733 is leading another long cut of cars of oil. These trains were the only freight in the yard today and the other freigt cars I saw was just a few domestic and foreign recauged cars scattered over the large yard. The yard has an pedistrial over pass that offers a lot of photo opportunities over the operations on this very busy yard.
Turku 18th March 2005.

VR Track TKA7 183.
This is one of those "where should I place this" thing. The vehicle is owned by VRTrack but operating in Sweden on standard gauge. As the usual mix of BV/Infrnord equipment was missing much of the MoW has been taken over by the finns.
