030728. Hard Drive crash

One of those things that makes you think is when something "that ain't suppose to happen, just happens". In my case this was a breakdown of a hard drive that caused me the trouble of loosing a LOT of material I was working on or ready to present or as temporary storage before final storage in CD.

What does that to do with this? Just a reminder how delicate computers and related stuff really are. The general idea of the recording next year is and was to use either a specially assigned PC or D 1600 to handle the works, without being connected to the WWW or not used to down load ANY information at all, expect from the recording sessions. I would hate the Idea at somewhere around three quarters of the project the hardware comes crashing down. I love to work, but hate it doing that for nothing. The D1600 however has been released in new version exoticly called as Mark II. I am checking out the spec. and having a word or two with some of my buddies around it. The D1600 is close enough for what I am looking for and as I am not handeling the cash in my seaty palm at a music store untill X-mass, I am able to check out the MK II and any new of the kinds in the market, there is still a quite few months 2 go.

On the other items on my shopping list, nothing much the V-amp II is still steaming and given me away to get the sound I have ever wanted, it is there and used pretty hard. The playing as such has improved with it, as I get better the notes and tricks I like to hear.

Stay Tuned! Ollie
